On this page we'll see how to equalize in size different panoramas to combine into a video of regular dimensions.
The need to match the panorama's sizes arises from the fact that they were created by selecting different areas over the source images at the moment they were unwrapped to panoramas. From this difference arises the fact that we have panoramas of different dimensions depending on the source frame they come from. In this simple example we have just two different panorama sizes but in more complex videos they could be many more :
There is also a great number of programs that perform image size conversions, among which we have choosen :
To get the size matching started we'll select them all inside the folder where they are and drag the selection into Fotosizer's main window :
As the panoramas are loaded we are shown a progress indicator :
Once the entire list is loaded we can see it together with details about each and every image :
To set up the resizing parameters we'll start by displaying the measure options. We'll select the work in pixels choice :
Before entering the desired dimensions we'll make sure to remove the check in the Keep aspect ratio (Mantener ratio aspecto) box since our goal is not to preserve the exact proportions between sides but to make these match in all panoramas despite these having been created of different areas. To choose the appropriate dimensions we can use different criteria, such as averaging the size of different panoramas or make them all merge to the smaller size so as not to create larger images from smaller ones with the efficiency loss this would imply. This is the approach we chose for this example's equalizing. Once these values are established we'll display the options that appear by clicking on the arrow next to Target Settings (Configuracion destino) :
We need to define a naming convention for the resized image files we are going to create. We can choose to keep the original names or other options that we have access to by clicking the nearby question mark ?. Writing %NNNN we determine that the new files are named as an ordered sequence of four-digit numbers atarting with one :
As output format we choose one that on saving preserves at a maximum the image quality such as PNG :
As a destination folder we choose the default setting, ie, the same folder where the source images ares. We are ready to get the transformation started by clicking on Start (Iniciar) :
While the process is completed a progress indicator is shown :
At the end of the conversion we can see that along with the source files there are new ones, all of them the same size. The little deformation this conversion has implied to same panorama will go totally unnoticed when navigating the panoramas interactively :
Now we are ready to remeove or move away the source files since henceforth we'll only work with the equalized panoramas :
Now all panoramas are the same size :
All the frames for the new sequence have been created. It is time to create the video.
