Spherical Photographs From Aligned Shots
The only way to capture spherical photographs without ever tilting the camera is with the use of a Fisheye lens that reaches out to cover the entire 180 vertical degree in a single shot.
From there it follows that just two shots in exactly opposite directions are enough to photograph the whole scene, notwithstanding which it should be done in at least three shots. While photographing the whole scene with horizontal shots, the used nodal rotator remains always behind the camera, so we do not need to previously edit the footage accessory before the making of the panorama. Anyway a small part of the rotator looks revolving around the nadir, making it recommendable to conceal it beneath an image or logo.
In the example below we can see as part of the nodal rotator, always turning the same side with the camera, appears on the lower end of each shot :
By transforming the set of pictures into a 360 degree panorama the lower sector of the photograph, corresponding to the nadir of the scene, shows all along the unwrapped image a rotator segment, divided into three parts, each one corresponding to a source shot :
Our task will then be to first create a panorama from the of Fish Eye pictures, and then to hide the nadir behind a logo.
