Specific Nodal Rotators

These are nodal rotators specifically built to be used toghether with certain combinations of cameras and lenses. For being manufactured with the exact shape necessary to fit the camera and the lens at the right position to rotate around the nodal point, these are the most precise of all, and also the easier to mount and their results are insuperable.

However, not everything about them is advantages. These are the most expensive of the lot and also the least flexible of them all, since a rotator specific to a certain camera model will become useless when the photographer need to replace this camera with a different model.

Right now only Ipix Corporation manufactures this type of rotators, and their conditions include payments for several concepts such as software, license, Yearly renovation and pay for panorama made. The only way to buy one of their rotators from them is to also buy them a camera, tripo and lens, since they only sell complete setups.

Definitively too expensive an option for a great number of photographers but still, the best one regarding a technical and practical point of view> It is worth mentioning that, after Years of complete banning, now there are many programs that can be used to stitch Ipix images without having to buy their costly software. There is a second hand market for nodal rotators where, looking with patience, it is possible to buy very cheaply second hand nodal rotators or complete setups. Mst times it' s not really necessary to have the latest gear to work with excellence.

The panorama illustrating this page was captured in three shots with a second hand 2 megapixels Ipix setup. The gear is aged but excellent and it was bought at an online auction for less than the tripod alone is worth.

Buena suerte y saludos!
